Brynn's 2nd Birthday

When we last left you it was Valentines Day. Later that week, I was invited to a superhero birthday party for my friend Riley. I wore a Captain America t-shirt and when we arrived to the party, we got to wear a cape and mask.

Brynn loved my cape and mask. She would put it on and run around the house while saying "Super bunny". She was referring to a Max and Ruby cartoon. And Super Grandma made an appearance also.Saturday, February 25th, was Brynn's 2nd birthday. We had a farm themed party at our house. Our friends brought a jumpy house for all of us to play in.For lunch, we had pigs in a blanket, corn on the cob, straw sticks (french fries), fruit and ants on a log. Quite the farm lunch!Caleb gave Brynn a nice hug after she opened the present he brought.Brynn got a doll house from Mommy and Daddy. Here I am with Grandma Kris. And here is Brynn's farm cake. It was raspberry lemon flavored.Brynn with her Godmothers, Emily and Kayla. We sang happy birthday to Brynn and she was beaming the whole time.We had to help her blow out the candles.I chose not to be in the birthday family picture. After cake, we headed downstairs for some stick the chick on the poster. When it was my turn, I may have sneaked a peek. Here are the results. If you'll notice, mine is right on target!Caleb decided he wanted to be a super hero too! When everyone left, Mommy and Daddy set up the doll house in Brynn's room.My sister loves stickers. Can you see all 29 stickers on her hand? She also couldn't stop talking about her pig and baa tattoos. The week after Brynn's birthday, Mommy got pink eye and was unable to work for a week. When she got to go back to work is when I got pink eye. Ugh :( The best thing was I had spring break from school so Grandpa Larson took me to his house in Minnesota for the week. We had tons of fun! We went to another birthday party, a train show, children's museum and lots of time at the park and riding on the 4-wheeler. While I was in Minnesota, Mommy and Daddy took Brynn to Fun City in Burlington for a little water park action. They met up with the Unruh's. Here is Brynn and Kenley snuggling after a long day. After 9 days in Minnesota, Daddy came up to get me. We went to the Mall of America for a day and spent the night in a hotel before coming home. I had so much fun riding the roller coaster, log ride and my new fav, the bumper cars! I even got a new Minnesota Vikings hat since mine was too small.
We've been enjoying the awesome weather by playing in our new back yard that finally got fenced in. Daddy went to Maquoketa to retrieve my gator! And our new play set just arrived yesterday. I'll have more pictures soon. Brynn went to the doctor for her 2 year check up. She weighed 26.6 lbs and was 34.3 inches tall. That's the 98th percentile for weight and 58th for height. Everything looked good and he said he will see her in a year.
We have been studying Mexico at school. We've done a few projects and we also got to bring home a "Mexico bag" Inside the bag was Iggy, a lizard that we had to have adventures with and record in a journal. I took Iggy in the jumpy house. (Notice we now have a jumpy house too) And he helped me color a picture. As we are now in spring, it's time for Great Strides! We will be walking in Iowa City, IA on May 5th at the city park. I want to invite everyone to walk with us and/or donate in my name. It's as easy as clicking on the link at the bottom of my blog page. We are so excited that this years donations will be going to help finish the process of getting my new medication to FDA approval. This winter, they approved a new drug called Kalydeco. This drug is not for my genetic defect but the new combo drug of Kalydeco and a yet to be named drug, will be for me. These drugs treat the root cause of CF. This is a huge step for me. This could mean a long and healthy life without all of my current meds and treatments. This my friends, is what all of our hard work and donations has done. Without you, I would not have all of these wonderful medical advances. So, join us! Come see what all of your money is for. We will also have a little gathering at our house after the walk. We would love to see everyone! Also, we will be having a lunch cart fundraiser at my Great Grandma Dorothy's estate sale on April 22nd. If anyone wants to volunteer their time and/or baked goodies for the sale, we would greatly appreciate it. Just contact my Mom. Thanks in advance for your generous support.

Until next time,

Luke William and Brynn Elyse
