Festifools and Easter 2009

Greetings to my loyal readers. I have lots to share with you. First of all, we attended Festifools on April 5th in downtown Ann Arbor. It was an afternoon of fun that included a parade of paper machete puppets that were HUGE!!! The University of Michigan drum group called The Groove provided some music. It was cold and rainy but we didn't mind. Here are a few pics.

On April 8th we had my appointment at U of M. It was a year since my last chest x-ray and blood work so we had to go a little early to get those done. Dr. Arteta reported that all was good and he was not going to make any changes in my current therapy. I weighed in at 26.8lbs and just under 35 inches. Everyone was quite impressed with my weight and height gain. I'm just under the 50th percentile for height and weight!!! A huge improvement. I've always been around the 25th percentile for weight.

We were blessed to have Grandpa Larson here with us on Easter this year. He was on his way to Philadelphia to see Uncle Josh and Aunt Maria when he made a stop at my house for a few days. Mommy had to work the night before Easter so when she got home we had a huge breakfast of bacon and french toast. Daddy did a great job!! The Easter bunny left me a basket full of fun toys for summer. Sidewalk chalk, baseball glove with ball, bubbles, bubble gun and a Spongebob coloring book with markers. Here I am with my goody basket.

Then it was off to the great outdoors for an Easter egg hunt. I found 16 colorful eggs filled with candy. Each one I found I had to open and say "OOOHHHHH" and then put it in my basket and say "YAY".

For dinner we enjoyed a Honey Baked Ham and all the fixings. It was a wonderful day and the sun was shining!! I also got a chance to enjoy my Gator and show Grandpa how I can ride it.

We are heading out to Philadelphia on Friday to see my new cousin Marlee. Since she will be off next weekend Mommy worked the last 4 nights in a row!! That's 44 hours in 4 days (nights). Daddy kept me busy while Mommy worked by taking me to 3 different parks on Saturday. We went to one of the parks in Milan in the morning, then we went to Monroe to drop some stuff off at Goodwill so we stopped at a local park to play on our way home, and then after dinner he took me back to Milan to a different park. On Sunday we went to The Firefly jazz club to see Daddy's friend's band Back Forty. I had fun walking around the room and yelling "YAY" after each song.

Finally, I want to take some time to remind everyone about Great Strides. We are at 4 weeks and counting until the walk. I truly appreciate all the contributions so far but we still have a ways to go. Just click on the picture below and place your contribution and/or sign up to walk with me.

Love,

Luke William
