Summertime

Hello everyone. I hope you are all enjoying the warmer weather. I'm loving it so far. I love to get outside and ride my 4 wheeler, play with my lawn mowers, and get Mommy and Daddy to pull me around in my wagon.

Another fun summer activity is going to the zoo. Daddy took last Wednesday off work and we headed down to the Toledo Zoo. We thought a good weekday trip would be perfect because there should be less people visiting the zoo. When we arrived we saw a whole bunch of school buses from Ann Arbor. Daddy overheard a zoo worker say they were expecting 4000 kids!! It was a little busy with all those kids around, but it was still a lot of fun. The first stop was the seals; I like to watch them swim by the windows.
Next was the polar bears, I think they are my favorite thing at the zoo.
Then we wandered around a while before stopping in to see the wolves. They looked a little familiar to me because Grandma and Grandpa Otteman have a dog named Mojo living with them that looks a little like the wolves.
After a quick lunch in the Carnivore Cafe we headed indoors to avoid a few sprinkles and check out the fish. We saw rays and sharks too. There are some weird looking fish at the zoo!!
Mommy took me into the petting zoo to pet some goats. I had to chase one of them down, but he let me pet him once I caught up.All the excitement of the petting zoo made me sleepy so I took a cat nap in my stroller. I sure am glad I did too because Mom and Dad went into the reptile house and then into the bug exhibit. I don't need to see those creepy crawly things! I also slept through the new amphibian exhibit where Mom and Dad said they saw very cool frogs that were all different colors.

After my nap all the kids from Ann Arbor had left so we almost had the entire zoo to ourselves. We took a train ride through the African exhibit and saw wild dogs, giraffes, zebras, and an ostrich.
Since the park was cleared out we had to get back over to see the polar bears again. Daddy held me up high so I could watch them play. They look so cute and seem to have a lot of fun in the water. That was it for my big zoo trip this year. I picked out a stuffed giraffe at the gift shop and we headed home.Since summer has arrived and the temperature is rising Mommy bought a pool for me. She set it up on our new deck so I can cool down and play in the water.
That's all, hope everyone out there is doing well. Bye for now.
