Please forgive me!

To all of my loyal readers, I apologize for the incredibly long delay in this newest edition to my blog. As most of you know I have been very busy. Instead of making excuses I will just get started with all of my new news.

I finally grew out of my baby tub and into my big boy duckie tub. Here I am enjoying my first time splish splashing in my duck.

We have also been spending time in our backyard having fires and making smores. Here is daddy and I relaxing by the fire and mommy and I making a smore. I can't eat them yet but I did try a little marshmallow. It was yummy!!

Mommy's friend Janine stopped by for a visit in July. I haven't seen her since I was born. It was nice for mommy to catch up with her friend and have a nice dinner out while I spent time with daddy at home.

I had my monthly appointment at U of M on August 9th. We received news that my last throat culture had grown a few pseudomonas bacteria. People with CF will commonly grow this bacteria but it is one that the doctors treat immediately. Unfortunately this means more medication. I was started on the antibiotic Cipro which I take by mouth twice a day and also Tobramyacin which I do in my nebulizer. This means I spend 45 minutes in the morning just doing my nebulizer and 30 minutes in the evening. It took a few days to get used to it but I am adjusting to the new routine well. A bit of good news is I gained a pound and a half in one month. I now weigh 15lbs and 10oz and was 25-1/3 inches long. I continue to eat like a champ and have fat free poops!!

We traveled to Iowa on Aug 9th for mommy's ten year class reunion. The car ride was good and we got to Grandma Kris's house at 3a.m. The next day was my 8 month b-day. Here I am in Grandma and Grandpa Eaton's backyard.

Great Grandma Dorothy also came to see me. I was giving her lots of kisses. Oh yeah, I learned how to give kisses to anyone who asks.

On Saturday I went to visit Great Great Aunt Helen. I sat on her lap and we caught up on what was going on.

Saturday night mommy and daddy went to the class reunion and I spent the night at G&G Eaton's house. I went to sleep early so mommy and daddy wouldn't have to worry about me. The next morning mommy's friends came over with their kids so we could play. Here is Brooke with Sage, Jamie with Mallory, mommy and I, and Samantha with Ridley and Layna.

We were a little cranky at this point because it was time to eat and take a nap. Grandma Kris let me sleep on her for a while before we had to hit the road back to Michigan.

The trip home went well except it took a little bit longer because we had to stop and do my nebulizer. Daddy bought me a portable nebulizer so now we can do my treatment in the car. It works on battery, adaptor into the cigarette lighter and also plugs into the wall. So far it has come in handy and mommy and daddy believe they made an excellent purchase. Well, I have lots more to say but I better sign off and save the rest for the next installment.

Love and kisses,

Luke
