Hello Everybunny

Greetings everyone. I've had a great week. First of all, we went to the University of Michigan on Thursday and they told me I weighed 8lbs 12oz. I actually lost 2oz but they knew I had been under the weather. My nutritionist, Hope, decided to increase my calories per ounce in my formula in the hopes that I would gain more weight. Little did she know at the time my poops per day would increase over the weekend and she would have to increase my enzymes per feeding. Now I take 2 1/2 capsules with every bottle to help me digest my food and absorb every nutrient possible. We will update Hope next week on my progress.

Friday, Grandpa Larson paid me a visit. He shaved off his beard since the last time I saw him so it took me a few glances to recognize him. We kept Grandpa busy by having him help daddy cut down our 2 large trees in the front of the house. It was a lot of work but they got it done. I showed Grandpa how I like to play my piano. Check it out.

Saturday, mommy took me shopping at Kohls to get me some new clothes for Easter. She went crazy but I'm not complaining. She actually has great taste.

Monday, mommy, daddy and Grandpa Larson took me to Cabelas to see the fish in the huge aquarium. I enjoyed sitting on the ledge and watching the fish swim by. They also had an albino catfish and turtles. Daddy and Grandpa took me to Walmart while mommy had lunch with a friend. Later on, I went outside and daddy carried me around the yard for a little while. The weather was warm but a little windy so we didn't stay out too long. It was nice to get a little fresh air. Even though I am a Vikings fan and there was no Monday night football Daddy let me wear my Denver Broncos onesie since it was a gift. Here's a pic of me just for Sol and Erin Miller.

Wednesday, mommy and daddy took me to see the Easter bunny. I didn't cry at all. I actually liked the bunny and wouldn't let go of the bunnys paw. Here is a picture of me with the Easter bunny.

I'm feeling good and my treatments are going well. Let's just hope I can stop pooping so much. Mommy and daddy use lots of Desitin to prevent diaper rash. Oh, by the way, my baptism is all set. It will be April 28th at the 6p.m. service at the First Lutheran Church in Maquoketa. All are invited to attend. We will then go to my Grandma Kris's house for cake and sandwiches. I hope everyone can come so I can meet you all. Just remember to stay healthy and wash your hands so you can hold me. I've had enough of hospitals for now. My goal is to not visit another hospital for at least 6 months. That would be a miracle. Well, that's all for now. Love you all and I hope to meet you all soon.

I'm pooped...and I pooped!!

Hello everyone, it has been a long week. I was a little fussy every night for a week or so, but I'm a baby so Mom and Dad figured I was fine. On Saturday night I scared Dad. First, I puked up all 4 ounces of formula that I had eaten an hour or more earlier. Then I was screaming in pain, not crying, screaming. Dad called my doctor's office and the doc on call said I should go to the emergency room. Dad called Mom who was at work at the time and we met her in Ann Arbor at Saint Joseph's ER. We were there from 12am untill about 6:30 am. There didn't appear to be anything seriously wrong so we went home with the idea that we would try smaller amounts of food for a few feedings.

Well, that didn't work. Sunday afternoon I was still in pain and Dad found what he thought was blood in my urine. So, we headed back to Ann Arbor. This time we went to the University of Michigan hospital ER since my pulmonologist is at U of M. I had blood taken, and IV put in, urine and feces sampled, X-rays taken, and even an ultrasound of my tummy done. Some good news came then; the blood Dad thought he had found in my urine was actually oxalate crystals due to dehydration, not blood. We spent another 7 or so hours in that ER before being admitted and getting moved to the pediatric floor. I was admitted for dehydration and gastroenteritis (inflammation of stomach/bowels). I was weighed as I was admitted; I was 8 pounds and 14 ounces.

Mom, Dad, and I spent Sunday and Monday nights in that hospital room with another sick two year old and her Mom. The room is about 20 feet by 12 feet and then split in two, half for the other little girl and half for me. So, we had a 10 by 12 foot room...not very comfy for three people, especially for me when I was sick and having bad tummy pains. Mom and Dad did their best to comfort me, but David W. Young knew exactly how to help me. David Young is the guy who discovered acetameniphen. Tylenol and I are now good friends, without it I wouldn't have slept all weekend. The doctors kept me on a diet of Pedialyte for all day Monday. I had no problems keeping it down and I even like the taste, the doctors said most kids hate it. Monday afternoon my pulmonologist visited me and decided that my enzymes did not need to be adjusted, instead she decided I should start taking Zantac (rantidine) twice a day. Late Monday the doctors let Mom feed me two ounces of formula and 2 ounces of Pedialyte. I kept that down no problem and was pretty pain free all night.

Dad got up early Tuesday (today) so he could go home to shower and go to work. Mom and I got up and I had 3 ounces of formula for breakfast. I kept that down so they said I could go home!! Mom fed me another 3 ounces at 11:30 this morning just before Dad picked us up. Dad dropped us off at home and headed back to work. I slept most of the day today so that Mom could get a shower and get caught up on a little house work. So, I've been puke free since Sunday morning and I'm pretty pain free and smiling a lot today. I also had a normal, non-oily, not very stinky bowel movement today too!! For me, this is a big step. I don't have a bunch of new pics, but here's one of me sleeping in my glider.
Grandpa Larson is coming in on Friday and staying until Tuesday, then we are done with house guests for a little while. Hopefully it will be nice out so we can get out of the house for a little bit. I'm just itching to get that stroller of mine out to Lillie park. There are nice concrete paths for me to "stroll" on. That's all I have to say, I need my rest now. I love you all.

Full House

Hi everyone. We had a packed house this weekend. On Thursday Uncle Josh and my very soon to be Aunt Maria arrived from Philadelphia. Mom had to work so Josh, Maria, Dad, and I just hung out at the house for the night. Uncle Josh woke up early the next morning when Daddy went to work so we hung out and napped on the couch until Mommy got home from work. Then on Friday, Grandma and Grandpa Otteman arrived with Uncle Jason. It was a busy night with everyone wanting to hold me. Grandma and Grandpa brought gifts of course, mostly clothes. Someone from Mommy's work sent a Hawkeye book along too, Daddy was not happy to see that since he is a U of MI fan, but he is letting me keep it.

Saturday we all went to the mall in Ann Arbor. Mommy had to battle with Grandma over pushing me in the stroller. Mommy picked out a few good books for me at Borders. Then we came home and grilled out for dinner. I was the center of attention all night of course and everyone got more turns holding me. Here's a few pictures.

On Sunday Josh, Maria, and Jason headed out for Philadelphia. Grandpa and Daddy took me to Lowe's to get a few things. Then we just hung out at home and played. We did learn one very important lesson this weekend; Grandma Otteman is excellent at playing hide (lose) the burp rag. Everytime she holds me my burp rag runs away. I am too small for my exersaucer still, but Dad wanted to play with it and figured he'd look really silly playing with it alone so he put me in it and stuffed a blanket in to make me fit snug, here's a pic of me playing in it.

That's all for now, my next appointments are March 19th (Synagis shot) and March 22nd (U of MI visit). I can't wait to see how much weight I've gained. Bye everyone!!

March Madness has begun

Hi everyone. The madness actually began a little early, on February 24th Mom and Dad drove me all the way up to Clarkston for my friend Ben Randall's 1st birthday party. There were a lot of new people there and even a clown making balloon animals!! I was very smiley at the party and everyone said I was very cute of course.

Then, just this past weekend my Grandma Kris came for a visit and brought Deb Millwright and her two daughters Emily and Kayla. We hung out at the house Friday night and I got passed back and forth so everyone got ample Luke time. Grandma Kris brought me new clothes and so did Deb, Emily, and Kayla. Mom and Dad think they may need a bigger house soon just for my clothes. Here's a pic of Deb, Kayla, Emily, and I.

On Saturday Daddy went to work and left me in the hands of all five women. They took me to the mall where I cruised around in my stroller while they shopped. Mommy bought me my own set of matching luggage!! I'm ready for adventure now. We then met Dad at The Macaroni Grill for lunch. Grandma Kris and Deb were impressed that there was a changing table in the Men's bathroom...no, they didn't go in there, Daddy took me in to change my diaper. Here's a picture of Grandma Kris and I on Sunday morning before they all went home.

That's all I have for now, we have more company coming in later this week. Here's one more pic of me in my froggy towel.

PS: My last doctor appointment was on February 23rd and I weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces. I'll be going in on March 19th for my Synagis shot, I'll get weighed then next. Take care everyone, I love you!!
